History of Medinipur in hindi

सन 2002 में मेदिनीपुर को 2 हिस्सों में बांट दिया गया, एक हिस्सा बना पूर्वी मेदिनीपुर और दूसरा बना दक्षिणी मेदिनीपुर, इस जिले के विभाजन की रूप रेखा 1915 से चल रही थी, जब देश में अंग्रेजी सरकार का शासन था, पर 1915 में जमींदारों के विरोध के कारण ये नही हुआ, जमींदारो को दर था की उनसे डबल टैक्स लिया जायेगा, इसके बाद कुछ कोंग्रेसी नेताओ ने भी विरोध किया, उनका मानना ये था कि विभाजन से अंग्रेजी हुकूमत उनकी राजनैतक शक्ति को कमजोर करना चाहती है, और ये विरोध 1921 तक चला, पर अन्ततः 2002 में कुछ सामाजिक, कुछ राजनैतिक दबाब में आकर इस जिले का बंटवारा हो ही गया
